Welcome to my journey towards a healthier life style!

I will come here to talk about different subject that can be a part of what makes human healthy. It will be anything from  walking in the park to keeping a moment to do something I love. I am just a regular person who really wish a change from that fast-pace materialist crazy life. I also would like to relearn how to appreciate little pleasure that life can offer.

Like many others I have a weight problem and I would like to make long lasting changes that will get me healthy, confident and happier. I want to do it slowly one step at the time. Once I have found the best way for me to change I will pick a date to start so I can track my progress.

Alright I had to update because I have already started 🙂 I guess it’s a good thing. I have started exercising and drinking more water around the Nov.25 2011 and I started counting calories and picked a goal weight around Dec.1 2011. My goal weight is 135 pounds. I don’t have a date but I will give myself at least a year and probably more because I started at 208 pounds. I want my journey to be a smooth one, lose about a pound a week and gain my health and energy back.

Really I just want to feel good and my weight brings others health problems that I could do without. This is not only about the appearance, it is more about being comfortable in my body. When you are overweight, simple things like lacing your shoes cuts your breath! I want to be able to move more freely, have more energy, learn to like exercise, integrate it in everyday life and learn moderation. Most of all I want to be a healthy model for my daughter.

    I’m doing the same thing, but I’ve set the date starting January 1st, 2012 with a monthly plan and will be working all year towards reclaiming my health. It’s so nice to read about your story! Being a healthy role model for your daughter is a powerful ‘why’ to spur you on your journey. If only more moms had the same drive.

    • Thank you Jennifer! It’s very nice to hear. Actually I kind of started two weeks ago by exercising daily and I tried to count calories on myfitnesspal to see what it was like. It was easier than I tought it would be so I just kept going without picking a date(I better update my about page :-)). I just drink heaps of water too and already start to feel better.   4. Hi Julie, thank you for checking out my posts. I look forward to following your journey and think that setting goals for what you would like to do afterwards and during i.e. have more energy, move freely and exercise are fantastic! I also think it’s great that you’re not setting a deadline for the weight loss. I find that this journey is a lifetime journey and a mindset change, therefore there is no need for a date as it is a healthy lifestyle we’ll take with us the rest of our life 🙂

    • Thanks for visiting! I try to focus on the destination( which is feeling good about myself etc.) while enjoying the journey and everyday things. It’s not always easy to see everything as a lifetime change when your craving for a cookie and it will take time but we will do it!

  9. I’m glad to have stumbled upon your blog this evening. I keep saying that I am following enough..it is a lot to keep up with..but I absolutely love finding people on a similar journey. It is very addictive, but these fellow blogging friends have kept me accountable and motivated to never give up. My daughter is starting to follow my path of bad health. I hope my journey keeps her from repeating history. Take care…and stay strong.

    • I keep following more and more as well loll The support on the blogging community is very important to me as I have found true friends. Sharing my strenghts and weaknesses with them keeps on track as well. My daughter is my first reason to be fighting to get healthier as I hope she can learn the good way instead of the bad from me. She has my genes so I had to do something before she ended up just like me! I hope both our daughter break the chain of weigh problems 🙂 Thanks for visiting!

      • Yep, I love reading so many blogs. i’be found the brst ones through people I follow. Kari must think I am staulking her ss many of the blog I now visit are from her page. I hope you succeed with setting the example for your daughter. Eventually though, I am learning…they have to want the healthy lifestyle and fight their own fight..just like we did.
